Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to garage door work carried out byPeter Garage Doors Repair & Installation Pty Ltd(ABN 11 701 155 697), trading as Peter Garage Doors, and to the use of petergaragedoors.com.au.

Quotes and prices

• We give you a price before any work starts. The price you approve is the price you pay.
• Quotes given by phone or text are based on the information you give us. If the fault turns out to be materially different once a technician sees the door, we will tell you and re-quote before doing anything further. You are free to decline at that point at no cost.
• Quotes are valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise.
• There is no call-out fee. If you decide not to proceed after an on-site quote, you owe us nothing.
• Prices include GST unless stated otherwise.

Booking and attendance

• Same-day service is subject to availability, your location and the parts the job needs. We will always tell you honestly when we can get there.
• You agree to give our technician safe and clear access to the garage door, including moving vehicles and belongings where needed.
• If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know as early as you can.

The work

• We repair, service and install garage doors, openers and related hardware.
• Where a part cannot be repaired safely, we will explain why and quote a replacement. You choose whether to proceed.
• Old parts we remove are disposed of by us unless you ask to keep them.
• We may take photographs of the work for our records and warranty purposes.

Payment

• Payment is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
• For supplied-and-installed garage doors, a deposit may be required before we order materials.
• Ownership of any parts supplied passes to you once payment is received in full.

Warranty

• We provide a 10-year workmanship warranty on the labour we perform, given to you in writing.
• Parts and motors carry the warranty provided by their manufacturer, which we will pass on to you.
• If something we installed or repaired fails within the warranty period because of our workmanship, we will come back and make it right at no charge.

The warranty does not cover:

• Damage from accident, impact, misuse, storm, flood, fire or power surge.
• Wear and tear on parts we did not supply, or faults in a door or opener we were not engaged to work on.
• Work altered, adjusted or repaired by someone else after we left.
• Failure to carry out reasonable maintenance where we have recommended it.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Safety

Garage door springs and cables are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury. Please do not attempt to release, wind or replace them yourself, and do not try to lift a door by hand when a spring or cable has broken. Call us instead.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, our liability for any claim is limited to re-performing the services or paying the cost of having them re-performed. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
